Red Velvet Birthday Cupcakes
3 Cups - Deluxe White Cake Mix
2 Tbsp - Deluxe Chocolate Cake Mix
1 1/4 Cups - Water
3 - Large Eggs
2/3 Cup - Vegetable Oil
1/2 Tsp - Red Food Colour Paste
4 Cups White Buttercreme Icing
Silver Dragees for decorating
- Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F)
- To make cupcake batter, place cake mixes, eggs, vegetable oil, water and food colour paste in a large mixing bowl and mix for 30-60 seconds. Scrape down the bowl and mix for an additional 3 minutes on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Place paper cupcake cups into cupcake pan. Fill each cup 2/3 full with batter and place into oven at 375 °F for 10-15 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Place buttercream icing into a piping bag and pipe icing onto each cupcake. Decorate with silver dragees to finish.
Yield: About a dozen cupcakes
